About the role

Nuviso’s Infrastructure Engineers ensure that our internal services have reliability and uptime appropriate to users’ needs and a fast rate of improvement. Nuviso is growing quickly and building the infrastructure services that enable developer velocity will have an immediate and visible impact on Nuviso success. You will be leading a team that will spearhead our efforts to launch a cloud service .

What you’ll be doing

• Take ownership of product development and drive a vision for turning our product into a competitive advantage.
• Spec, Design, code, code review and test various product features independently
• Help analyze and advocate for better technologies in storage and software development
• Work with Product managers, QA, support and SRE to develop features that help support critical product functions.
• Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.

What we’re looking for

• Cloud native development experience with either AWS, GCP or Azure
• Experience in distributed storage options and Disaster recovery processes and tools including ZDT (Zero downtime)
• Advanced knowledge of Cryptographic technology, Data Security, Data Privacy & Regulatory controls. Compliance needs like FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA, NIST, PCI and the concept of continuous compliance in the cloud.
• Development experience in Core backend with microservices, container environments (Kubernetes with associated scale, security, node management policies), APIs.
• Hands-on experience in performance-based platform development including coherence caching, queuing (Ex: Redis, managed services like SQS/SNS, PubSub).
• Working knowledge in CSP deployments including AWS EKS, ECS, EC2 & equivalent GCP, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Multi-tenant backend development and proven experience in the development of tenant entitlement models, tenant life cycle, separation of duties in SaaS, PaaS MT environment.
• Concurrency, Scale-out/in and development of stateless compute with ZDT.
• A clear focus on latency, the performance of SaaS functions.
• Proven development experience, a penchant to include test automation & scripts, staging and production deployments.

Bonus points if you have

• In-depth experience in various storage technologies like Block Storage, Object storage, File Systems and Storage optimized computes.
• Deep understanding of HDFS and related Hadoop file storage technologies
• Cloud Networking experience in Virtual cloud networks, subnets, load balancers, on-prem to cloud connectivity, etc.
• Working knowledge of ELK, Prometheus and Grafana
• Working knowledge of distributed queuing technologies like Kafka

Required technical & professional expertise:

1. 5+ years of infrastructure engineer with proven record for delivering high-quality, large-scale solutions
2. 5+ years of working knowledge with one or more operating systems: Ubuntu (Preferred), RHEL, CentOS Linux, and Windows Servers
3. Working knowledge with one or more Virtualization technologies: Citrix Hypervisor (Preferred), VMware vSphere, Ubuntu KVM, etc.
4. Working knowledge with one or more programming tools: Bash, PowerShell, Python (mandatory), Ruby and Go.
5. Working knowledge with one or more key infrastructure tools/products: Active Directory, Ansible, Chef, etc.
6. Working knowledge with Container technologies: Kubernetes (preferred), Docker, etc.
7. Working knowledge with Monitoring technologies: Zabbix (preferred), Splunk, etc.
8. Working knowledge with Network and Storage technologies
9. Working knowledge with ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluent, and GitHub

Desired Additional Qualifications and Skills (“Nice to Have”)

1. Experience with Message Queues (Kafka preferred), PostgreSQL Databases, Redis Caching
2. Experience with technologies enabling reliable data processing pipelines such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Splunk; database and data visualization technologies for operations such as SQL dbs, Influxdb, Grafana, Kibana.
3. Experience with event monitoring/management ecosystems like Zabbix, Nagios, Sysdig, LogDNA, ServiceNow.
